Description

  • Review provider-assigned lab, imaging, and diagnostic result tasks routed to an AthenaHealth inbox.
  • Call patients to review results and communicate provider notes and instructions in a clear, professional manner.
  • Answer patient questions within clinical scope and explain medical findings in simple language.
  • Perform basic clinical triage during calls and escalate urgent or complex concerns to on-site physicians.
  • Document all patient communications and close result tasks in AthenaHealth.
  • Draft and post approved patient results and provider commentary to secure patient portals.
  • Maintain an organized, efficient inbox workflow to ensure timely turnaround on pending communications.
  • Collaborate with remote providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to support continuity of care.
  • Follow HIPAA requirements and practice-specific documentation and communication protocols.

Requirements

  • Active Medical Doctor (MD) license preferred; highly experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are also considered.
  • Flawless verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to speak with an exceptionally clear, professional phone voice with a neutral accent.
  • Hands-on experience working in AthenaHealth EHR is strongly preferred.
  • Solid background in clinical triage, primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or urgent care.
  • Experience in a secure, completely quiet home office environment.
  • High-speed internet, dual monitors preferred, and a professional noise-canceling headset.
  • Background in telehealth, virtual triage, or remote clinical support is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing patient portals and asynchronous virtual communication workflows.
  • Ability to multitask and independently handle high-volume digital medical inboxes.
