Description

  • Own the technical foundation for Spreetail’s 3PL platform from the ground up.
  • Design and build multi-tenant systems for client onboarding, catalog management, inventory, fulfillment, and billing.
  • Create reliable core services for inventory management, order routing, and warehouse operations across client accounts.
  • Drive architecture decisions for a 0-to-1 platform as it scales from first clients to broader adoption.
  • Develop configurable and reusable components that make new client onboarding fast and low-friction.
  • Build observable, self-healing fulfillment pipelines with clear service-level expectations.
  • Reduce manual exception handling through AI-enabled workflows such as forecasting, anomaly detection, and automated issue resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, standards-setting, and broader architecture discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and operational teams to deliver accurate, real-time inventory and order visibility.

Requirements

  • 6–8+ years of experience building and shipping production backend systems.
  • Experience leading technical direction through design reviews, mentorship, or setting engineering standards.
  • Strong fundamentals in APIs, data modeling, databases, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, including queues, streams, and async processing.
  • Strong testing, debugging, and production support practices.
  • Experience with ecommerce order management, inventory, warehouse, or logistics systems is a strong plus.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, undefined 0-to-1 environment.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and communicate clearly in async, distributed teams.
  • Exposure to EDI standards, 3PL/WMS integration patterns, or integrating ML outputs into application logic is a plus.
