Description

  • Develop cross-functional relationships with Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, brokers, and other external partners to align on compliance priorities.
  • Assess the current state of trade compliance by reviewing core materials, classification accuracy, and import/export activity.
  • Identify and resolve recordkeeping errors, broker SOP issues, and classification discrepancies that affect cost and compliance.
  • Establish KPI baselines and launch reporting to track classification accuracy, entry timeliness, and screening compliance.
  • Build a phased trade compliance roadmap and long-term compliance strategy.
  • Design and deliver targeted compliance training across the organization.
  • Present savings-aligned compliance plans, risk assessments, dashboards, and strategic roadmaps to leadership.
  • Embed compliance into supply chain processes and influence business decisions through data and risk mitigation.
  • Lead cross-functional compliance projects involving internal stakeholders and external logistics or brokerage partners.

Requirements

  • Licensed Customs Broker certification is required.
  • Extensive trade compliance experience, including classification, valuation, licensing, and audit processes.
  • Experience in a high-volume import/export environment is preferred.
  • Proven success leading cross-functional compliance projects.
  • Strong analytical and systems expertise with ACE, AES, ECCN/HTS tools, and denied party screening software.
  • Experience delivering cost savings through duty optimization strategies such as FTA use, duty drawback, First Sale for Export, and process improvements.
  • Executive communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work with urgency, communicate clearly, and lead with accountability.
