Description

  • Develop Backstage-powered user interfaces with TypeScript and React.
  • Build Node.js backend services for dataset discovery and metadata management.
  • Create and maintain connectors that ingest dataset metadata from data warehouses and transformation tools.
  • Integrate data assets with Backstage’s catalog, search, and ecosystem.
  • Drive convergence across integrations to improve scalability, reliability, and adoption.
  • Partner with customers, data platform teams, data owners, and data consumers to identify problems and iterate on solutions.
  • Translate internal use cases and customer feedback into reusable product capabilities.
  • Lead projects from concept and design through deployment, monitoring, and customer support.
  • Deliver well-tested, maintainable solutions that scale.
  • Make tradeoffs between near-term delivery, quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Experience building backend services and APIs with Node.js.
  • Comfort contributing across the stack, including modern web experiences with TypeScript and React.
  • Understanding of data engineering concepts such as data quality, governance, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms.
  • Ability to design integrations that fit how data practitioners manage and consume datasets.
  • Strong technical judgment and willingness to incorporate feedback and new information.
  • Experience with full-cycle product development from discovery through delivery and operations.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with engineers, product managers, and customers.
  • Based in New York City, with flexibility for some in-person meetings and work-from-home arrangements.
