Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Java.
  • Create and evolve APIs and services that connect user experiences with internal infrastructure.
  • Apply product requirements to technical implementation decisions.
  • Improve system architecture, performance, and developer experience.
  • Develop and enhance user-facing layers and frontend SDKs using React and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and data specialists across multiple teams.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and help shape platform decisions.
  • Support new subscription products, Synced Feeds, and the Spotify Open Access API.
  • Help build scalable subscription offerings for creators and publishers.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and developing backend applications in Java.
  • Solid understanding of React and TypeScript.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end experiences across backend, frontend, and APIs.
  • Strong software architecture knowledge.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to experiment.
  • Interest in agile software development and continuous learning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
  • Experience with infrastructure-related technologies is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring and encouraging collaborative teams is a plus.

  • Base salary range of $150,000 to $189,000 plus equity.
