Description

  • Coach students on confidence, resilience, mindset, motivation, and everyday routines to help them handle academic and athletic pressure.
  • Support students through peer dynamics, performance stress, and the normal ups and downs of a high-standards school environment.
  • Collaborate with coaches, guides, and other adults by sharing relevant day-to-day observations while respecting student privacy.
  • Communicate with parents about student engagement, progress, and goals, and discuss ways families can reinforce school efforts at home.
  • Help students navigate the school’s learning platform and resolve common technology issues so they can stay focused on academics and athletics.
  • Lead small-group workshops on topics such as bounce-back after losses, pre-competition nerves, time management, and healthy competition.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and teens by listening well, reading emotional cues, and communicating appropriately with different age groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 0–2 years of experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • A degree in psychology, education, kinesiology, social work, sports science, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate naturally and respectfully with students ages 9 to 16.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to ask good questions before offering advice.
  • Comfort working in an athletic environment where competition and performance pressure are part of daily life.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for professional parent and coach updates.
  • Must be based in the U.S. and able to work remotely.
  • Coursework or experience with K-12 students, such as practicums, school internships, youth volunteering, or camp counseling, is a bonus.
  • Background in sports or athletics, including playing, coaching, or working around competitive sports, is a bonus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is helpful.
