Description

  • Own the day-to-day management of the Texas Sports Academy family community, including communications, engagement, response times, and member experience.
  • Design, schedule, and facilitate virtual community events such as parent information sessions, speaker panels, student-athlete socials, Q&A sessions, and family meetups.
  • Expand community programming into in-person events as the program grows.
  • Identify, contact, and confirm speakers and guests, including coaches, athletes, educators, parents, and partners.
  • Manage event logistics from invitation through follow-up.
  • Respond to questions and monitor community channels across group chats, social platforms, email, and the parent portal.
  • Provide timely and accurate information about program policies, schedules, and resources, and route specialized questions to the appropriate team members.
  • Build and maintain a rolling community calendar of events and engagement touchpoints throughout the year.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building or managing an engaged community for a school, athletic program, membership organization, brand, or similar group.
  • Proven ability to plan, promote, and run events from concept through completion, including speaker outreach and coordination.
  • Clear, professional, and empathetic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
  • Personal experience as an athlete, coach, or in a sports-related role, with understanding of the youth athletics landscape and the families it serves.
  • Must be based in Texas; Austin-area candidates are preferred to support future in-person programming.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity as a core part of the daily workflow.
  • Previous roles such as parent liaison, director of family engagement, community lead, or similar positions at an educational institution are a plus.
  • Experience writing parent communications, producing short-form video content, or managing social media accounts for a family-facing audience is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is a strong advantage, as a significant portion of families are Spanish-speaking.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp or Beehiiv, Notion, Slack, Zoom, and parent communication portals is preferred.
