Description

  • Create highly reliable software systems that control hundreds of satellites in low Earth orbit.
  • Improve satellite constellation performance, security, and availability through software design.
  • Own the software lifecycle from requirements analysis and prototyping through development, testing, rollout, and operational support.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and build new satellite capabilities.
  • Write high-quality Linux-based C++ software for common processors and microcontrollers.
  • Implement networking technologies to route data across satellites, ground operations centers, and users.
  • Build automated ground-based software systems for data processing and satellite command and control.
  • Develop models and simulations for flight software testing, network performance analysis, and research projects.
  • Develop tools for testing across virtualized hardware, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-in-the-loop environments.
  • Create systems that improve software deployment, test execution, and data analysis within continuous integration and release workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Development experience in C, C++, or Python, or full stack software development experience.
  • Experience developing and deploying software used in real-world applications and projects.
  • Solid fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks.
  • Strong debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and creatively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI clearance.
  • Experience with networking protocols such as TCP and UDP is preferred.
  • Experience developing in the Linux kernel is preferred.
  • Experience with C++ for high-performance systems is preferred.
  • Experience with image data processing and machine learning is preferred.
  • Strong background in math and physics is preferred.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR.

  • Base salary range of $125,000-$150,000 for Level 1 and $145,000-$175,000 for Level 2.
