Description

  • Oversee build and test processes for the Raptor final assembly and Tube Shop production area.
  • Develop, qualify, and refine assembly processes to support high-volume engine production.
  • Collaborate with design, production, reliability, and vendor partners to improve manufacturing efficiency and schedule performance.
  • Work with design engineering to develop manufacturing standards that reduce final assembly burden.
  • Resolve build issues, disposition nonconforming conditions, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Own tooling design, fabrication, qualification, and continuous improvement using analysis and data.
  • Design tooling for new and existing products to support rate production.
  • Streamline production builds to reduce cost while improving quality and efficiency.
  • Implement standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and standard repair procedures, including review and approval of planning documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
  • 1+ years of mechanical design and manufacturing experience, including industry experience or collegiate projects such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, or Design Build Fly.
  • Experience with building and testing fluid and electrical systems and interpreting schematics.
  • Documentation and configuration management experience.
  • Experience writing test plans and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale.
  • Experience taking products from development cycle to full-volume production.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, drilling, and automation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly.
  • Experience with NX (UG or equivalent) CAD and GD&T for component and tooling design.
  • Experience in process development, facility and line layouts, value stream layout, PFMEA, and error proofing.
  • Ability to work directly with hardware on the floor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.

Benefits

  • Pay range of $100,000-$115,000 per year for Propulsion Engineer Level I and $110,000-$135,000 per year for Level II.
