Description

  • Own commercial, employment, intellectual property, and non-practicing entity disputes from early assessment through resolution.
  • Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, enforcement actions, subpoenas, preservation and takedown demands, privacy complaints, and law enforcement requests.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Sales, Security, Finance, and People teams to identify disputes early and recommend practical strategies.
  • Advise the People team on employment matters and dispute avoidance, and support commercial teams with claims and customer escalations.
  • Counsel executives and, when appropriate, the Board on litigation risk, risk tolerance, and emerging legal developments.
  • Select and manage outside counsel across jurisdictions, including litigation budgets, discovery, legal holds, and eDiscovery.
  • Develop scalable disputes, legal hold, discovery, and litigation processes for a high-growth global business.

Requirements

  • Approximately 6–10 years of litigation or disputes experience at a leading law firm, in-house, or a combination of both.
  • Experience independently managing complex commercial disputes from assessment through resolution.
  • Demonstrated success managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, discovery, legal holds, and eDiscovery.
  • Strong judgment, ownership, and ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical advice.
  • Credibility and composure when working with law enforcement, regulators, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to learn adjacent practice areas and manage multiple high-priority matters.
  • J.D. and active bar admission required; a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
  • Experience with employment disputes, internal investigations, or government and regulatory inquiries preferred.
  • In-house experience with enterprise software, cloud services, data centers, AI, or cybersecurity preferred.

Benefits

  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • $240,000–$275,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Annual target bonus.
  • Equity compensation.
