Description

  • Own project portfolios in Virginia after handoff from Business Development.
  • Manage project activities from handoff through submission of construction permits.
  • Obtain non-ministerial permits, including zoning and planning approvals.
  • Coordinate with Project Controls to develop project schedules upon award.
  • Conduct preconstruction site visits and gather required project information.
  • Support Engineering in developing compliant project designs.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure equipment is purchased on schedule.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and support RFPs and subcontract agreements.
  • Participate in client meetings, process submittals and RFIs, and relay tasks to engineering.
  • Track construction budgets during procurement and provide status reports on engineering, procurement, schedule, and cost forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of construction experience and/or an engineering background in solar.
  • 2+ years of permitting experience in Virginia at the county and city level, including Special Use Permit submissions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Dynamics 365 or similar construction management software, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat Pro or equivalent PDF editor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of behind-the-meter and utility interconnections.
  • Understanding of purchase orders, subcontracts, PPA and EPC contracts, and project accounting.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements; OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
