Description

  • Own the team’s delivery, quality, operational excellence, hiring, retention, professional growth, and well-being.
  • Foster a culture of clarity, alignment, and confidence to help the team execute effectively.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define the strategy, roadmap, and architecture for the application development platform.
  • Design, build, and launch platform features that improve software development at SmarterDx.
  • Champion DevOps and SRE practices across the organization.
  • Support the platform in production and help resolve difficult technical issues.
  • Lead a senior engineering team working on AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes-based development tooling.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager.
  • Experience running an agile process, preferably Kanban, and using the agile toolkit.
  • Expertise with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Deep experience designing and implementing microservice architectures.
  • Experience with Python and one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a security-conscious domain.
  • Experience working at startups, especially in health tech.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience as a startup founder or managing a team at a fast-growing startup.
  • Preferred: experience supporting data engineering tools like Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Preferred: experience supporting ML/AI tools and platforms.

  • Base salary of $230K to $250K.
