Description

Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing SMA America utility inverters in the field through email, telephone, and site visits.
Develop detailed knowledge of SMA utility inverter products, related accessories, and third-party accessories used with the inverters.
Maintain accurate inventory counts of spare parts provided by SMA.
Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and inverter software and firmware.
Maintain high customer satisfaction while helping lower field service costs.
Assist with and perform maintenance activities in accordance with SMA product maintenance manuals and customer contractual obligations.
Learn to analyze data, operation and maintenance activity, and utility inverter applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field is strongly preferred, or equivalent experience in the renewables industry.
At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
Prior experience in the renewable energy industry is strongly preferred.
Ability to work nonstandard business hours occasionally to support customer service contracts.
Ability to work a nonstandard work schedule as needed or required.
Knowledge of solar and/or alternative energy markets is preferred.
Knowledge of the National Electric Code is preferred.
Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
Significant domestic travel and possible international travel is required.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship.

Compensation of $33.00 to $35.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
