Description

  • Provide service for inbound pharmacy calls and/or place outbound patient refill calls to support the refill process.
  • Proactively coordinate medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication.
  • Answer, resolve, and triage inbound patient, provider, and pharmacy inquiries.
  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians as needed.
  • Identify medications requiring special storage or handling, including hazardous and refrigerated medications.
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
  • Apply observations and recommendations to improve operational issues, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact between patients, pharmacy liaisons, clinical providers, and internal teams.
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information and support other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a state-registered pharmacy technician.
  • National certification as a CPhT or equivalent is strongly preferred, and required at hire if state registration is not available in the candidate’s state.
  • Must commit to obtaining any additional required licensure within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe if needed.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with claims adjudication.
  • Experience managing refills, specialty pharmacy, working with clinical care teams, and working remotely is strongly preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills, with comfort proactively engaging patients and contacting clinicians, payors, and pharmacies by phone.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to quickly learn new programs and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to extract relevant information quickly.
  • Must be able to maintain a distraction-free work environment, use two company-required monitors, have stable high-speed internet, and be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation for long periods and keep camera on for most meetings.
