Description

  • Provide inbound pharmacy phone support and place outbound patient refill calls to guide patients through the refill process.
  • Proactively coordinate medication refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication.
  • Answer, resolve, and triage patient, provider, and pharmacy inquiries.
  • Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians as needed.
  • Identify medications requiring special storage or handling, including hazardous and refrigerated medications.
  • Manage, organize, and update patient and operational data using database applications.
  • Address adjudication errors and help pharmacies properly process electronic prescription drug claims.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend operational changes to improve productivity and customer service.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient and organizational information.
  • Support business needs with flexible scheduling, early start times, and overtime when required.

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina Pharmacy Technician license required to be considered.
  • State registration as a pharmacy technician required; national certification as CPhT or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • If the candidate resides in a state without pharmacy technician registration, national certification is required at hire.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with claims adjudication experience.
  • Experience managing refills, specialty pharmacy work, clinical care team collaboration, and remote work is strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills, including comfort proactively engaging patients, clinicians, payors, and pharmacies by phone.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, with ability to quickly learn other programs and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to extract relevant information accurately.
  • Must be able to work in a distraction-free remote environment with stable high-speed internet, two company monitors, and camera on for most meetings.
