Description

  • Monitor real-time transactions and customer behavior flagged for fraud and abuse for manual review.
  • Investigate individual transactions using internal policies and review methodologies to determine whether they are fraudulent.
  • Analyze account patterns and internal systems data to support fraud investigations.
  • Research fraud trends and user behavior to help improve machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.
  • Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineers to strengthen fraud prevention processes and tools.
  • Maintain strong domain knowledge of fraud prevention techniques and technologies.
  • Meet or exceed service level agreements for timely resolution of queued cases.
  • Handle escalations from internal and external stakeholders professionally and efficiently.
  • Block users deemed fraudulent or risky and clear false-positive flags from automated systems and support agents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience investigating and resolving fraud incidents.
  • Experience analyzing data and making decisions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, business judgment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to self-start and work with minimal supervision after training.
  • Ability to work through holidays.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools is required.
  • Candidates must be comfortable leveraging AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.
  • Available to work Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Central Time.
  • English resumes only.
  • Preferred experience in fintech, payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions.
  • Preferred degree in statistics, math, finance, economics, or another quantitative discipline; graduate degree is a plus.
  • Preferred experience with SQL or similar database query languages and Python, R, or SAS.
  • Ideal start date within two weeks of offer.

  • Compensation of $1,500 - $2,000 USD gross per month as a contractor.
  • Full-time, non-exempt/hourly contractor position.
