Description

  • Own procurement of data center electrical equipment for North American sites.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Finance to align sourcing with design, budget, and site requirements.
  • Develop category strategies and identify new suppliers for electrical equipment.
  • Manage RFPs and RFQs for major electrical components, including substations, generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, static transfer switches, PDUs, and busway.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, terms, and master service agreements to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
  • Review supplier proposals and prepare comparison and cost analyses.
  • Oversee equipment from initial design and specification through delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Evaluate and screen potential new suppliers for improved pricing or lead times.
  • Monitor supplier performance, conduct business reviews, manage risk, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Issue purchase orders and resolve invoice issues with finance and accounting teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of procurement experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with data center electrical equipment procurement.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center electrical systems, including high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage.
  • Strong procurement, sourcing, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of complex bid analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Excellent relationship management, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Experience with data center construction procurement.
