Description

  • Own EEE parts selection, derating analysis, screening, and qualification for spaceflight hardware.
  • Develop and maintain Approved Parts and Preferred Parts Lists and related control procedures.
  • Lead FMEA/FMECA, worst-case, stress, and reliability analyses and predictions.
  • Evaluate non-standard parts, GIDEP alerts, and parts obsolescence issues.
  • Support total ionizing dose and single-event effects radiation assessments.
  • Collaborate with design, systems, manufacturing, and supplier-quality teams on parts selection, sourcing, counterfeit avoidance, and traceability.
  • Establish parts and reliability procedures, work instructions, and forms for the AS9100 Rev D quality system.
  • Represent parts and reliability engineering in PDR, CDR, and TRR reviews and provide program risk assessments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote technical rigor across mission assurance activities.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in the space or aerospace industry.
  • Experience with a satellite, optical payload, or launch-vehicle manufacturer.
  • Experience with NASA or DoD space-system standards, such as NPR 8705.4, SMC-S-009, MIL-STD-1547, or MIL-STD-883.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical information.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and with geographically diverse teams.
  • Preferred: 15+ years of space or aerospace industry experience.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with DFARS and ITAR compliance for parts sourcing.
  • Preferred: Experience building parts-engineering programs at an early-stage company.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of PLM or parts-database tools.
  • Must be able to comply with U.S. export controls; applicants must be eligible under applicable U.S. authorization requirements.
