Description

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of activities within the Loads group.
  • Define the scope of work, validate level of effort, and ensure work stays within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Provide timely guidance to Loads group personnel to ensure first-time-right work quality.
  • Act as a peer reviewer and technical approver for Loads deliverables.
  • Ensure a common loads approach across multiple programs and product lines.
  • Own problem resolution within the Knowledge Domain, including aircraft-level investigation and root-cause problem solving using the PSS methodology.
  • Document lessons learned and close the loop on technical issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with leadership and provide constructive feedback and technical advice.
  • Lead knowledge domain strategy, strategic technology development, innovation, and continuous improvement for the Loads group.
  • Develop and maintain Loads group processes, manuals, BES content, and compliance with BES best practices.
  • Lead talent development by identifying engineers and DADs, addressing skill gaps, and training new employees.
  • Coordinate with Bombardier Defense, external suppliers, and customers as the Loads group spokesperson.
  • Lead development, validation, and verification of Loads group requirements and support DR&O development.
  • Define the company approach for new regulatory elements and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with the procurement group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aeronautics or mechanical engineering; higher education is an asset.
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in the loads domain within the aerospace industry.
  • 10+ years of experience leading engineers on loads assessments, including planning, execution, risk management, and project delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills for planning work and tracking execution within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Sound judgment to optimize work scope and define the appropriate quality level.
  • Good understanding of FAR 25 certification requirements.
  • Experience working with Canadian, European, and U.S. certification authorities is an asset.
  • Solid experience in static and dynamic aeroelastic loads analysis.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Recognized expert in the loads domain.
