Description

  • Design, own, and govern scalable and secure backend architecture for ABAP-based lending solutions.
  • Define technical direction, coding standards, and clean-core, upgrade-safe extension patterns.
  • Lead implementation efforts, review designs and code, and ensure high-quality delivery in an agile environment.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX/Fiori leads, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to define end-to-end solutions.
  • Translate business needs into backend APIs, CDS/OData services, and integration patterns.
  • Diagnose, prioritize, and resolve complex technical issues, including incident response and post-mortem follow-up.
  • Drive engineering excellence through testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated quality checks, and performance tuning.
  • Mentor and develop ABAP engineers through code reviews, coaching, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Create, maintain, and approve technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural artifacts.
  • Support cloud deployment readiness, security, observability, governance, and upgrade/migration planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in ABAP object-oriented development with substantial hands-on S/4HANA experience.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams in enterprise SAP projects.
  • Deep proficiency in OData, Core Data Services (CDS), and ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP).
  • Practical experience with SAP BTP services, deployment approaches, integration concepts, and cloud readiness.
  • Strong architecture and design skills, including extension patterns, clean-core strategies, multi-tenant SaaS considerations, and upgrade-safe solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD for ABAP, automated testing strategies, performance tuning, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Familiarity with modern SAP development tools such as Business Application Studio, Eclipse, or Visual Studio Code.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Certification in S/4HANA, SAP BTP, or related SAP technologies is preferred.
  • Domain experience with banking products and processes, such as retail lending or regulatory reporting, is preferred.
  • Full-stack experience with SAP UI5/Fiori or close collaboration with UI leads is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA, including AMDP and performance modeling, is preferred.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures and integration patterns on SAP BTP is preferred.
  • Experience working in agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe and leading international, cross-functional teams is preferred.
