Description

  • Design, implement, and ship high-quality, performant, and user-friendly mobile application features using React Native.
  • Develop reusable components, design system elements, and shared frameworks that serve multiple teams and applications across the mobile ecosystem.
  • Maintain and improve CI pipelines, build tools, and monitoring systems to support developer productivity and mobile release stability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable mobile solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with thoughtful test coverage and participate in code reviews to uphold and raise code quality standards.
  • Contribute to networking, persistence, and performance layers to improve app health, reliability, and observability.
  • Drive developer experience improvements across the mobile platform and support cross-team adoption of shared systems and tooling.
  • Mentor and grow within a collaborative, high-trust environment and champion Samsara’s cultural principles across teams.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building production web or mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React Native or React in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with common mobile architecture patterns, state management (e.g., Redux or similar), and API integration.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: testing, version control, code reviews, and debugging.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working on teams that build customer-facing products and incorporating feedback.
  • Willingness and desire to grow as an engineer and contribute to a high-performing team.
  • Experience working in a mobile-focused environment and contributing to apps used at scale (preferred).
  • Exposure to monitoring, logging, or performance tooling to improve app health and reliability (preferred).
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices and UI design principles, and curiosity about full-stack systems and mobile-backend interactions (preferred).
  • This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US or Canada; ability to secure and maintain legal right to work in the specified location is required.

  • Annual base salary range $113,645 — $191,000 USD (base pay may vary by location, skills, and experience).
