Description

Build core infrastructure for multi-agent orchestration, including task planning, coordination, execution, and recovery.
Define and implement platform primitives and abstractions that enable internal teams to build and deploy new agents.
Design reliable backend services and APIs for agent discovery, state management, scheduling, and observability.
Architect systems to support scale, resilience, and long-running workflows across multiple concurrent agents.
Collaborate with internal teams building agents to refine APIs, tooling, and operational feedback loops.
Drive technical decisions in a high-ambiguity, early-stage environment where requirements evolve rapidly.
Own systems end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production operation.
Work across the stack as needed to support greenfield products, internal tooling, evaluations, and observability.
Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally.

Requirements

4+ years of software engineering experience.
Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems.
Senior-level experience with high-scale backend or distributed systems.
Proficiency in Python.
Strong system design skills and a production reliability mindset.
Comfort working across the stack as needed.
Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
Experience with Go (preferred).
Experience with agentic or autonomous systems, orchestration platforms, workflow engines, or automation infrastructure (preferred).
Familiarity with observability tooling, distributed tracing, and event-driven systems (preferred).
Experience designing APIs and internal tooling used by other engineering teams (preferred).
Remote position open to candidates residing in the US or Canada; relocation assistance is not provided.

Benefits

Annual base salary range of $126,225 to $163,350 CAD.
Total direct compensation designed to be at or above market, including base salary, bonus/variable pay, and RSUs for eligible roles.
