Description

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex full-stack initiatives, turning ambiguous product requirements into technical designs, implementations, and rollouts.
  • Design and evolve core organization-management experiences, including UI and backend services.
  • Refactor existing code to address performance bottlenecks, improve user experience, and reduce operational burden.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers through code reviews and technical design feedback to raise engineering standards and ownership.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to define and prioritize work grounded in real customer problems and measurable business impact.
  • Operate with high autonomy: proactively identify risks, drive alignment, and unblock the team to ensure delivery.
  • Leverage and promote approved AI tools in engineering workflows to remove toil, accelerate delivery, and enable higher-value work.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and directly engage with customers to validate solutions and inform technical direction.
  • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (customer focus, long-term thinking, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional industry experience building and operating production software systems.
  • Track record of leading complex technical initiatives from inception to delivery in collaborative team settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver on project milestones.
  • Experience with both front-end and back-end development, and willingness to work across the stack.
  • Growth mindset and quick learner able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of ownership and agency; proactively identify problems and follow through to resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain design choices and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Desire to collaborate and openness to feedback while defending ideas when appropriate.
  • Comfort using AI tools as part of the development workflow and interest in experimenting to improve team productivity.
  • Preferred: experience scaling systems to serve 100k+ RPS; experience with DynamoDB; familiarity with Go, React, and GraphQL; remote candidates must reside in Poland or the United Kingdom and be able to secure and maintain the legal right to work.
