Description

  • Own the analytics direction for the data platform, including the vision, standards, and roadmap for metrics, models, and reporting.
  • Unify data models across product areas into a single governed semantic layer.
  • Design, validate, and continuously improve merchant-facing reports and analytics.
  • Establish documentation standards for APIs, datasets, metrics, and columns.
  • Build analytical foundations for cohorts, funnels, growth metrics, and benchmarks.
  • Define validation rules, reconciliation checks, and metric governance to ensure consistent numbers across systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and analytics teams on platform-layer analytics.
  • Advise teams on how to build against the platform layer correctly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics engineering, including at least 2 years in a senior or ownership-level role.
  • Proven experience building or governing metrics layers or semantic models used by multiple teams.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with comfort working directly with warehouse-level data in BigQuery, ClickHouse, Redshift, or similar.
  • Experience designing customer- or merchant-facing analytics products such as dashboards, embedded reports, or analytics APIs.
  • Strong focus on naming, documentation, and standards for data definitions.
  • Experience partnering with product managers to translate business questions into governed, reusable data models.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to align multiple teams around a single source of truth.
  • Experience in e-commerce or SaaS platforms, especially merchant or seller analytics, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with metric stores or semantic layers at scale such as Cube, dbt Semantic Layer, or Metriql is a plus.
  • Experience with API contracts and data documentation practices such as data catalogs, OpenAPI specs, or column-level lineage is a plus.
  • Statistical modeling or forecasting experience applied to growth analytics is preferred.
  • Arabic language proficiency is a plus.
