Description

  • Set and execute Sage’s cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, priorities, investments, and effectiveness measures.
  • Lead the design, implementation, operation, and improvement of security controls across enterprise and technology environments.
  • Oversee security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, testing, incident response, and remediation.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to integrate security into platforms, infrastructure, and software development.
  • Manage identity and access, endpoint and asset management, SaaS administration, technology vendors, and employee IT services.
  • Own technical business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities for critical IT systems.
  • Maintain security standards, procedures, documentation, and evidence supporting audits and control effectiveness.
  • Advise executives and the Board on cybersecurity risks, incidents, capabilities, metrics, and investments.
  • Build, lead, and develop cybersecurity and IT teams with clear ownership, staffing, and accountability.
  • Provide reliable employee technology services, including onboarding, offboarding, access management, help desk support, and device lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, security operations, infrastructure security, or related disciplines, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Experience leading teams that implement and operate security controls in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FISMA/RMF, FedRAMP, or comparable frameworks.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, identity and access management, endpoint security, cloud security, and security testing.
  • Experience establishing risk-based processes to identify, prioritize, track, and remediate vulnerabilities and findings.
  • Ability to communicate cybersecurity risks and technical trade-offs to executives and a Board.
  • Experience partnering with compliance, risk, audit, or governance teams and producing technical control evidence.
  • Experience leading IT operations, employee technology services, identity and access management, endpoint management, and enterprise SaaS administration.
  • Experience in a lean, mission-driven nonprofit, research, or similarly complex environment; federal security, cloud-native, biomedical data, security engineering, CISSP, CISM, CGRC, or CISA experience preferred.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, solve complex problems, communicate effectively, collaborate, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Availability to travel twice yearly to Seattle, Washington, and ability to perform extended computer-based work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
