Description

  • Design and build robust GraphQL and REST APIs and scalable backend services for internal and external use.
  • Take technical ownership of features and projects across both product and data domains.
  • Lead full-stack web development, systems architecture, and cross-team data integration initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes for ingesting, transforming, and delivering structured and semi-structured data.
  • Build or integrate internal tools and admin interfaces for data stewardship, data quality, and operational workflows.
  • Support and embed data-driven features in applications by collaborating with stakeholders to translate insights into product experiences.
  • Design technical solutions to support large-scale application growth, availability, and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and systems, including mentoring engineers and promoting best practices.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and promote engineering excellence through code quality, testing, performance tuning, and architecture documentation.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on full-stack and backend development.
  • Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and scaling GraphQL and REST APIs in production environments.
  • Strong data modeling and database design experience, ideally with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with modern monorepo setups and modular architectures.
  • Experience building, supporting, and integrating production-grade ETL/data pipelines and data processing using Node.js, Python, or SQL with attention to performance and maintainability.
  • Familiarity with modern data tools and platforms such as AWS Glue, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Databricks (or similar) and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD workflows, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Comfortable with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles (SOLID, DDD, DRY) and experience working with both greenfield and legacy systems.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to navigate ambiguity and own delivery end-to-end, experience mentoring engineers and working in fast-paced startup or scaling environments; prior experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data environments is a plus.
