Description

  • Monitor SIEM and other security platforms, reviewing logs, events, and alerts for suspicious activity.
  • Investigate, classify, and prioritize security alerts while eliminating false positives and correlating activity with attack patterns.
  • Respond to security incidents according to established incident response playbooks.
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve incident response playbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in vulnerability management activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on incident response and threat mitigation.
  • Tune monitoring systems and detection rules, identify coverage gaps, and implement improvements.
  • Document incidents, findings, remediation steps, and investigation results in detailed reports.
  • Support forensic investigations and evidence collection when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information security, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Experience with security operations center processes.
  • Hands-on experience managing SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and XDR tools.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network protocols.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining processes and procedures.
  • Relevant certifications such as GSEC, GCIH, CompTIA, BTL1, BTL2, or vendor-specific cybersecurity certifications.
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with technical, non-technical, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
