Description

  • Define and execute the architectural vision for the cloud platform, optimizing Kubernetes, MySQL, and cloud-native services for performance, security, and multi-region scale.
  • Build, scale, and maintain internal tools, platform controllers, and automation frameworks in Go or Python to reduce operational toil.
  • Create cross-functional technical alignment across component, platform, and security teams to embed resilience, capacity controls, and compliance early in feature design.
  • Define, audit, and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets across critical platform services and turn telemetry into product roadmap actions.
  • Serve as a primary incident commander for major cloud outages and lead blameless post-mortems that drive systemic fixes.
  • Architect cost observability, capacity forecasting, resource quota optimization, and vendor SLA management.
  • Set the technical direction for the Application-SRE team and ensure complex customer-impacting issues are diagnosed, mitigated, and durably resolved.
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers, champion SRE best practices, and participate in interview processes to raise the technical bar.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Support, Product, and engineering leadership to convert customer escalations and POCs into engineering and reliability work.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen currently residing in the continental United States (CONUS).
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • 8–12+ years of software engineering and production cloud infrastructure experience.
  • At least 5+ years in a formal SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering role supporting hyperscale SaaS products.
  • Hands-on programming experience in Golang, Python, or Java.
  • Deep understanding of concurrency models, data structures, and test-driven software design patterns.
  • Experience designing, deploying, analyzing, and auditing large-scale distributed systems, database topologies, and high-availability public cloud meshes.
  • Strong operational command of Unix/Linux environments, systems administration, and advanced L4/L7 networking protocols.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across architectural dependencies, multi-team projects, and major platform shifts.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Support, and customers on escalations and POCs, and translating field signals into engineering action.
  • Preferred experience provisioning, lifecycle-managing, and recovering Kubernetes deployments on GKE or EKS and MySQL databases.
  • Preferred experience with compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP High/Moderate, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or CJIS.
  • Preferred fluency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
  • Preferred experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Selected candidates may be subject to background screening, including SF 85, SF 85P, Tier 1, Tier 2, or fingerprint-based CJIS checks depending on access and role requirements.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $218,300 to $327,500 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus potential.
  • Eligible for equity.
