Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, performant, and maintainable features across Roo’s technology stack.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers to deliver solutions for business problems.
  • Write documented code for the React Native mobile application and backend services.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and mentor early-career engineers.
  • Own feature testing, including Jest unit tests and Cypress end-to-end tests.
  • Investigate production issues, improve observability, and support platform reliability.
  • Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams on deployments, CI/CD, and system performance.
  • Identify and introduce improvements to tools, processes, and technologies.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Experience with mobile development, such as React Native or another mobile framework.
  • Experience with Node, Express, React, AWS, and relational databases.
  • Ability to write complex and efficient SQL queries.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to high ethical standards.
  • Experience working at a growing team or early-stage startup preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Availability for occasional travel to San Francisco; San Francisco-based employees work in a hybrid arrangement.
