Description

  • Independently manage and own the clinical operations portion of assigned clinical research projects.
  • Work with cross-functional study leadership to develop and implement operational strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate clinical risks and contribute to the quality risk management plan.
  • Review study protocols and other study materials, including CRFs.
  • Develop and manage clinical operations timelines, metrics, resourcing, budget, and activities.
  • Develop monitoring tools and plans.
  • Oversee planning and site performance to meet departmental productivity expectations.
  • Create and conduct training sessions, including investigator meetings, conferences, and team trainings.
  • Lead study start-up activities, including tracking progress, reviewing data, and ensuring site selection and supply delivery.
  • Provide status updates to project management and sponsors and lead regular clinical team teleconferences.
  • Serve as an escalation point for CRAs and manage site communications and documentation of decisions.
  • Participate in the RFP process and support business development meetings.
  • Review monitoring visit reports and ensure finalization within contractual timelines.
  • Support the management and development of in-house CRAs and CRAs.
  • Assist Project Managers with project management tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of clinical research experience in the CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading the clinical operations function within clinical trials.
  • At least 2 years of on-site monitoring experience.
  • Preferred therapeutic experience in Neurology and Pain.
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in a life science, nursing, pharmacy, or related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical and therapeutic area knowledge and medical terminology.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality scientific standards.
  • High integrity, accountability, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Agility and adaptability in a changing environment.
  • Ability to travel as needed, possibly up to 25%.
