Description

  • Obtain and manage insurance authorizations for Physical and Occupational Therapy services.
  • Verify insurance benefits and authorization requirements.
  • Communicate with insurance providers by phone and email to check authorization status.
  • Coordinate with therapists, clinical staff, and patients to secure timely approvals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
  • Track authorization expirations, renewals, and follow-up requests.
  • Resolve authorization issues and escalate denials when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in medical insurance authorizations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, including Physical and Occupational Therapy terminology.
  • Experience with Managed Care insurance authorizations.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette and email communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, VoIP phone systems, and PDF editing software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
