Description

  • Track Canadian regulatory changes across provincial programs, PRO materials, harmonization efforts, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Field customer and prospect questions on EPR obligations, fees, reporting categories, exemptions, and deadlines.
  • Own the webinar program end to end, including topic planning, content creation, live presentation, and follow-up Q&A.
  • Create regulatory briefs, policy gap assessments, updates, blog posts, FAQs, explainers, and one-pagers.
  • Equip sales, marketing, and customer success teams with accurate talking points and materials.
  • Monitor emerging and adjacent material categories such as textiles and other non-packaging EPR areas.
  • Represent the company in producer education, industry engagement, consultations, working sessions, and coalition meetings.
  • Flag regulatory changes to technical and product teams so they can inform the compliance software and roadmap.
  • Maintain relationships with PROs and other external stakeholders.
  • Feed recurring customer questions and market feedback back into product and customer experience improvements.

Requirements

  • Background in EPR, packaging or environmental policy, sustainability, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience in plastics and packaging policy, circular economy, waste management, or Extended Producer Responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of how EPR programs operate, including governance, financing, PRO structures, and enforcement.
  • Ability to independently read, interpret, and track statutory and program text across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to run scenario modeling that shows producers how different rules affect their portfolios.
  • Strong public speaking, webinar hosting, and live Q&A presentation skills.
  • Strong writing ability for non-expert audiences.
  • Comfort creating programs, content, and structure in new or evolving areas without a template.
  • Confidence engaging producers, prospects, PROs, regulators, and industry groups.
  • Ability to stay organized and credible in a fast-moving, ambiguous regulatory environment.
  • Self-direction and experience owning a domain end to end in a remote, cross-functional team.
  • Canadian regulatory knowledge is a plus, including provincial EPR programs, the harmonization effort, PROs, and the Federal Plastics Registry.
  • Additional exposure to PPWR, toxics-in-packaging, hazardous materials, textiles, batteries, or e-waste policy is a plus.
  • Experience with eco-modulation fee models, design-for-recyclability guidelines, or rulemaking comment periods is a plus.
  • Experience creating content or educational programming for technical or regulatory audiences is a plus.
  • International background or fluency in French or another European language is a plus.
  • In-house brand-side experience or participation in advisory committees, working groups, or industry coalitions is a plus.
  • This role is remote, with a preference for candidates in New York or on the East Coast.
  • If based in New York City, the role includes 3 days per week in the office at 1460 Broadway.
