Description

  • Craft fault-tolerant data pipelines and distributed systems that support millions of students.
  • Build and operate the infrastructure, tooling, and code behind the company’s data platform.
  • Ensure timely, accurate data and metrics are delivered consistently across the organization.
  • Collaborate with product managers, product owners, and peer engineers to bring features and products to market.
  • Contribute to technology choices, architecture, and platform capabilities as the team scales Nearpod and Renaissance Intelligence.
  • Work with distributed engineering, product, and design teams and communicate data architecture to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help evolve data ownership and fluency across teams so insights can be delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Mentor fellow team members and help them stay current with new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks.

Requirements

  • Significant professional experience in ETL/ELT using cloud-based databases at scale.
  • Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, BigQuery, Redshift, and/or Snowflake.
  • Experience designing, coding, and supporting enterprise-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience architecting, building, and maintaining data warehouses, data lakes, and data meshes.
  • Experience mentoring team members and adapting to new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Understanding of K-12 education data is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS tools such as S3, Glue, and Lambda is preferred.
  • Experience with Airflow, Redshift, DBT, Snowflake, and Docker is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a 100% remote environment is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

  • Salary range of $99,500 to $136,800 USD, based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
