Description

  • Lead negotiation and review of complex commercial and employment-related contracts, including MSAs, SaaS agreements, employment contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance on cross-border employment matters across Europe and the EMEA region.
  • Advise on onboarding, offboarding, regulatory compliance, employee benefits, and employee disputes.
  • Offer guidance on GDPR and broader data protection matters in the context of employment and international operations.
  • Handle escalated, high-risk legal queries across multiple jurisdictions and provide practical legal advice to internal teams.
  • Improve legal workflows, tools, playbooks, and scalable processes within the legal function.
  • Partner with HR, Sales, Product, and Compliance to embed legal strategy into business initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR tech and startup industry trends and contribute to policy and legal framework discussions.

Requirements

  • Law degree (LLB/JD) from a recognized university.
  • Bar membership or legal qualification in at least one European jurisdiction.
  • 6+ years of legal experience, ideally in-house within EOR, staffing, HR tech, or a large global company.
  • Deep expertise in European employment law, including onboarding/offboarding, employee benefits, and labor law compliance.
  • Strong track record of negotiating and drafting commercial agreements.
  • Familiarity with global compliance requirements and cross-border operations.
  • Practical experience with data protection and GDPR compliance in employment settings.
  • Experience supporting complex legal escalations and sensitive matters.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in another European language such as French, Spanish, or German is a strong plus.
