Description

Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
Build tools, APIs, and integrations for one of Remote's products.
Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, proposing solutions, and suggesting product improvements.
Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
Review code and contribute to a shared codebase.
Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team initiatives.
Mentor and guide other engineers.
Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
Redesign engineering workflows to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
Design and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to verification.
Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives across the codebase.
Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing quality loops.
Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
Experience with Docker is preferred.
Experience with AWS is preferred.
Experience with Next.js is preferred.
Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
