Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and proposing product improvements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
  • Contribute to the shared codebase and help evolve the platform.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues as well as business-facing issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team engineering work.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate and implement platform improvements.
  • Design and implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Design, operationalize, and improve agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflow primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use tests, checks, evaluations, and guardrails to verify results and ensure reliability, security, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems: define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Experience with Elixir and Phoenix is relevant to the team’s backend stack.
  • Experience with React and Next.js is relevant to the team’s frontend stack.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is a nice to have.
  • Experience with Docker is a nice to have.
  • Experience with AWS is a nice to have.
