Description

  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Own end-to-end payroll execution for assigned jurisdictions, including payroll input validation, calculations, and post-payroll processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on country payroll requirements and track legislative, tax, and regulatory changes affecting payroll operations.
  • Support the rollout of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions and integrate execution processes into operational workflows.
  • Serve as a coordination point for internal teams and external stakeholders on country payroll matters.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, operational risks, and compliance issues, escalating complex matters when needed.
  • Improve payroll operational processes by streamlining workflows and increasing operational transparency.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation and operational knowledge to keep processes clear, scalable, and aligned with governance requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on system enhancements, statutory updates, and operational improvements impacting payroll.
  • Contribute to the adoption and testing of automation and AI-enabled tools that improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Meaningful mid-to-senior level experience in Ukrainian payroll operations, including hands-on end-to-end payroll processing in Ukraine.
  • Experience managing payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Comfort working with internal and external stakeholders in a cross-functional payroll ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills for handling complex payroll scenarios.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with comfort working asynchronously in globally distributed teams.
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to raise risks early and handle operational challenges with curiosity and accountability.
  • Comfort working in scrappy, fast-moving startup environments.
  • Proficiency in payroll tools and data analysis using in-house and external platforms.
  • Strong fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience working in remote or globally distributed teams is an advantage.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
