Description

  • Own payroll compliance for your assigned country or region and be the accountable subject-matter expert.
  • Interpret, document, and ensure correct implementation of local statutory requirements across processes, systems, and customer workflows.
  • Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, thresholds, and edge cases into structured requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Design to create compliant, intuitive, and auditable user experiences, and review specifications to validate legislative accuracy.
  • Lead multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation and establish scalable audit frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for compliance incidents, partner with Incident Managers, and drive corrective and preventative actions.
  • Design and implement scalable processes, governance frameworks, controls, SOPs, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure ongoing adherence.
  • Build training materials, deliver regular enablement sessions, coach Specialists and Leads, and maintain high-quality compliance documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, Customer Success) to embed compliance into decision-making and support go-to-market and customer escalations.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for your country/region, including how legislation maps to payroll calculations and system logic.
  • Proven track record leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements and validating product outputs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, Customer Success, and Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating high-risk or sensitive compliance incidents and exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching teammates to grow compliance capability.
  • Systems-thinking experience designing frameworks, documentation, processes, controls, and monitoring that scale across jurisdictions.
  • Comfortable operating asynchronously in a fast-changing, fully remote environment and delivering enablement across distributed teams.
  • Willingness to use Automation and AI capabilities as part of the role (innovation and automation are embedded into requirements).
