Description

  • Serve as the accountable payroll compliance expert for your jurisdiction(s).
  • Interpret, document, and implement local statutory requirements across processes, systems, and customer workflows.
  • Translate statutory rules, payroll logic, tax calculations, thresholds, and edge cases into structured requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • Partner with Product Design to create compliant, intuitive, and auditable user experiences; review specifications and validate product outputs.
  • Lead and deliver multi-country or high-risk audits from planning through remediation and establish scalable audit frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for compliance incidents, partner cross-functionally to resolve issues, and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Design and implement clear, scalable processes, governance frameworks, controls, SOPs, and monitoring mechanisms for payroll compliance operations.
  • Build training materials, deliver enablement sessions, coach Specialists and Leads, and maintain high-quality documentation for rules, workflows, and system logic.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, Customer Success, and senior leadership to embed compliance into decision-making and go-to-market activities.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for the assigned country/region, including how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
  • Proven record leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements and validating technical outputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience influencing stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
  • Demonstrated investigative judgment in high-risk or sensitive scenarios and experience driving root-cause analysis and systemic improvements.
  • Experience designing frameworks, documentation, processes, controls, and SOPs that scale across jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience mentoring, coaching, and upskilling colleagues and delivering enablement sessions.
  • Comfortable working asynchronously in a fast-changing, fully remote environment.
  • Willingness to undergo prior employment verification and to submit application materials in English.
  • Location preference: applications are welcome globally, with priority given to candidates based in the United Kingdom or Ireland; available to start as soon as possible.
