Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
  • Spend about 30% of the time on management work while actively participating in product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers in hiring when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers.
  • Serve as the spokesperson for the team and manage team dynamics.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback to team members.
  • Support the growth and career development of direct reports.
  • Coach and guide the team toward better execution and performance.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives across the codebase.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive backend experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with efficient processes and a kind, people-first approach.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Strong understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ambitious and intentional commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
  • Experience with automation or comparable workflow systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to work fully remotely from anywhere in the world.
