Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management work while actively contributing to product development.
  • Participate in hiring for the team and support peers in hiring when needed.
  • Own the onboarding process for new engineers.
  • Manage team dynamics, act as the team spokesperson, and help each person do their best work.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching to direct reports.
  • Support the growth and career development of each direct report.
  • Redesign engineering delivery to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and ensure quality through tests, checks, evals, and guardrails.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or backend technologies such as Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems by defining clear specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
