Description

  • Own or co-own a major primary structure assembly and its child subassemblies from design release through ATP test.
  • Lay out the build flow to support efficient, high-quality product flow that can scale over time.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and reliability engineers, internal production teams, and external vendors to drive progress.
  • Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high-fidelity manufacturing processes.
  • Help standardize processes across the manufacturing team.
  • Help establish stations within the inaugural work cell, including assembly operations, tooling, capital equipment, and rate targets.
  • Support the shop floor by resolving live issues and providing upstream feedback.
  • Provide design-for-manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and prototype and flight builds.
  • Apply insights from manufacturing execution to improve future manufacturing technology and factory processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, aeronautical, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of progressive and related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with engineering and manufacturing groups.
  • Working knowledge of primary vehicle structures, machining, assembly processes, and tooling.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to work well in an integrated, collaborative team environment.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype to mass production, preferred.
  • Experience with new product introduction of an aerospace hardware system into manufacturing, test, and production systems, preferred.
  • Experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment, preferred.
