Description

  • Drive engine system architecture and CONOPS trades.
  • Manage engine interfaces and negotiate requirements to optimize for the vehicle.
  • Support engine system development across the full lifecycle.
  • Contribute to engine system analysis and simulation as needed.
  • Support engine testing and tool development as needed.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams while bringing deep technical acumen to system-level problems.
  • Lead collaborative projects to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Help improve systems, processes, and technical solutions in a fast-moving startup environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in complex engineering system development and/or test environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field.
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
  • Working knowledge of liquid-propellant rocket engines.
  • Clear evidence of ownership, problem-solving, and effective team collaboration from school or work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on ambitious schedules, including using unconventional and creative solutions when needed.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight and act as a self-starter.
  • Average of 15% travel to test and launch sites.
  • Occasional shifted schedules or weekend work for critical milestones.
  • Preferred experience with fluid components such as valves and instrumentation.
  • Preferred experience with engine subsystems such as combustion devices and turbomachinery.
