Description

  • Design, develop, and execute avionics testing strategies for rocket systems.
  • Own avionics system-level integration, design validation, testing, and operations.
  • Coordinate test efforts to validate power systems, fault tolerance and isolation behavior, vehicle network behavior, and software validation.
  • Develop vehicle-level avionics CONOPs, go/no-go criteria, automation, and operator manuals.
  • Support the development and operation of integrated avionics system testbeds.
  • Support on-console test operations and data review during stage-level test and launch operations.
  • Work closely with the avionics design team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Develop automation and testing infrastructure to improve efficiency and effectiveness across testing workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with integrated systems testing, such as flight test, hardware/software design validation, or hardware-in-the-loop test platforms.
  • Understanding of engineering requirements capture and verification/validation test planning.
  • Experience testing, validating, and troubleshooting complex integrated electrical and software systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for data acquisition, recording, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with wire harness design tools such as Zuken (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX and Teamcenter (preferred).
  • Familiarity with PCB design modeling tools such as Altium Designer (preferred).
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, UART, and SPI (preferred).
