Description

  • Drive engine system architecture and CONOPS trades for the propulsion team.
  • Manage engine interfaces and negotiate requirements to optimize the system for the vehicle.
  • Support overall engine system development across design, production, qualification, and flight.
  • Contribute to engine system analysis and simulation as needed.
  • Support engine testing and test-related problem solving.
  • Develop tools and methods that improve the engine systems workflow.
  • Lead collaborative projects to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Work across multiple teams and technical disciplines within propulsion.
  • Mentor teammates and contribute technical guidance to the broader team.

Requirements

  • 11+ years of relevant experience, preferably in complex engineering system development and/or test environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field.
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
  • Working knowledge of liquid-propellant rocket engines.
  • Clear evidence of ownership, problem-solving skills, and effective team collaboration from school or work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on ambitious schedules using unconventional and creative solutions when necessary.
  • Ability to travel an average of 15% to test and launch sites.
  • Willingness to occasionally work shifted schedules or weekends for critical milestones.
  • Preferred experience with fluid components such as valves and instrumentation.
  • Preferred experience with engine subsystems such as combustion devices and turbomachinery.
