Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing and repairing problems, replacing components, and performing upgrades or additional maintenance on out-of-season equipment.
  • Conduct performance checks and routine maintenance to ensure generators are ready for operation.
  • Read and follow blueprints and other design specifications when installing or repairing equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and test systems for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to generator and power alarms, including 24/7 on-call coverage when required.
  • Communicate by answering assigned phone and email inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment and switching gear, following safety practices and attending required safety and training meetings.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms using both visual and audible methods.
  • Travel long distances and work overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, holidays, and extended assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with generator maintenance preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Willingness to travel long distances and be on call 24/7 when assigned.
