Description

  • Design and commission new test assets and systems to expand or improve production testing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing partners to execute efficient, scalable production testing campaigns.
  • Author and optimize test sequences, plans, procedures, and operational processes for first-article development and high-volume production.
  • Analyze test data to evaluate assembly performance and identify recurring discrepancies.
  • Support root cause analysis, non-conformance resolution, and corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Define and standardize operational requirements and processes to improve safety, data quality, and test repeatability.
  • Support workcenter development by evaluating assembly and test operations, tooling, capital equipment, safety, and operational goals.
  • Provide hands-on support to shop floor and production personnel and rapidly resolve test issues.
  • Offer upstream feedback to improve design for manufacturability, testability, and reparability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience authoring and executing test plans and procedures on complex high-pressure pneumatic and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with high-pressure pneumatic leak checks, sensor checkouts, high-voltage electrical system checkouts, and integrated system testing.
  • Experience designing and commissioning pneumatic and electrical test equipment.
  • Experience leading failure and anomaly investigations, resolving non-conformances, and driving root cause analysis with corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of fluid, thermal, mechanical, and electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, common test hazards, and appropriate mitigations.
  • Ability to define and roll out new processes from concept through implementation while working collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and external vendors.
  • Preferred experience in a fast-paced, lean environment, including direct vendor engagement, tool development, or leading a small team through ambiguous build or test efforts.
  • Preferred familiarity with industry test standards such as SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D, and MIL-STD-810G.
  • Preferred knowledge of launch vehicle components such as regulators, check valves, orifices, and electromechanical or pneumatically actuated valves.
  • Preferred experience with test automation, data acquisition and control systems, and electrical and pneumatic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, pressure regulators, and flow meters.
