Description

  • Produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps of the Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines.
  • Own manufacturing trades and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon-R hardware and subassemblies.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between manufacturing and design teams.
  • Help optimize Aeon-R architecture as manufacturing operations scale.
  • Provide input that shapes new hardware iterations and critical engineering decisions.
  • Work through challenging issues unique to rocket turbopumps and additively manufactured hardware.
  • Collaborate with engineers across design, development, and analysis efforts.
  • Drive assigned projects to completion in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.
  • Manufacturing process experience in fluids testing, machining, and additive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of general assembly and test procedures, including tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
  • Experience with Siemens NX or other CAD and analysis tools.
  • Experience with tooling design, including conceptualization, modeling and drafting, and detailed analysis.
  • Experience working with additively manufactured engine hardware (preferred).
  • Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and industry specifications (preferred).
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment (preferred).
  • Experience working in a flight development program (preferred).
