Description

  • Create process plans, standard operating procedures, inspection plans, work holding designs, and supporting documentation for machined parts.
  • Improve manufacturing processes by developing and deploying new technologies and methodologies.
  • Advise upstream partners on design-for-manufacturability approaches.
  • Communicate manufacturing, fixturing, and inspection methods for design concepts, GD&T requirements, and datum structures to inform design decisions.
  • Recommend new or updated designs that improve manufacturability.
  • Analyze and improve processes that create non-conforming hardware.
  • Investigate root causes of manufacturing issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Support the expanded machine shop and contribute to the scale and pace of the Terran R program.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or a comparable STEM field.
  • 3+ years of machining experience.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of metrology and dimensional inspection methods (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD and CAM software (preferred).
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of fixture design and stack-up analysis (preferred).
