Description

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of tooling engineers delivering safe, efficient, and repeatable production solutions.
  • Define and execute the long-term tooling strategy across design, manufacturing, and operations.
  • Oversee the design, fabrication, and commissioning of complex tooling systems that improve manufacturability, quality, and throughput.
  • Manage the tooling project portfolio with accountability for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Partner with design engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure tooling readiness for new product introductions and ongoing product changes.
  • Standardize best practices for design documentation, preventive maintenance, and configuration control across tooling assets.
  • Support production readiness for both current programs and future facilities as factory automation needs grow.
  • Work across internal partners to identify root problems and deliver hardware and automation solutions that improve factory performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Expertise with CAD and PLM systems such as NX, Teamcenter, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale tooling initiatives for complex hardware such as structures, assemblies, or propulsion systems.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes including machining, composites, weldments, and additive manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs balancing cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or oil and gas production environments with rapid development cycles, preferred.
  • Background in Lean manufacturing and Design for Manufacturability (DFM), preferred.
  • Experience with factory automation, lifting and handling systems, or test tooling, preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach and scale engineering organizations, preferred.
